First article inspections

First Article Inspection (FAI) is a process used to verify that a production run or a new product meets the required specifications and quality standards at the earlier Stage of 10 - 20% merchandise production has been completed.

Reason to conduct First Article Inspection?

• Ensure Quality: Verify that the product meets the required quality standards and specifications at the earlier stage.
• Reduce Risk: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with production, such as defects or non-conformities.

What to Inspect During FAI:

1. Dimensional Inspection: Verify that product dimensions meet specifications.
2. Material Inspection: Verify that materials meet specifications and requirements.
3. Functional Testing: Verify that products function as intended.
4. Visual Inspection: Verify that products meet visual quality standards.
5. Comparison with First Piece Sample against the customer Approved Sample.
6. Testing in labs according to the Product Standards.
7. AQL Inspection on completed production of 10 to 20%.
